Company Overview
The Millstone Company is a St. Louis based real estate and private equity investment company. The company was founded in 2001 with the acquisition of Fountain Lakes Commerce Center, located at the interchange of Highway 370 & Elm Street/New Town Boulevard in the City of St. Charles, Missouri. Today, Fountain Lakes has around 5,000,000 square feet of mixed-use space and 300,000 square feet under development.
Beyond the success of Fountain Lakes Commerce Center, The Millstone Company is a platform for investments in a variety of other projects and businesses. Millstone Capital Advisors is a wholly owned subsidiary that manages our private equity funds www.millstoneca.com. Our mission includes enhancing quality of life and economic development for the people in the companies in which we invest and the communities in which they operate.
Millstone Foundation was established in 1955 by I.E. and Goldie Millstone. As with our private equity funds, we focus our philanthropic resources where we can enhance the impact of our financial contribution with the involvement of the officers and directors of the Foundation. The Millstone Company Founder
Robert Millstone
Bob Millstone is President and founder of The Millstone Company, a real estate development and private equity company. In 2013, he created Millstone Capital Advisors to manage the private equity fund he established with Fred Flegel and Jim Saitz. Previously, he was President, CEO, and General Counsel at Millstone Bangert, Inc., a premier airport and highway construction company. Bob also worked as a Senior Trial Attorney for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice and as an associate at Coburn & Croft. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1985, JD in 1988, and an Executive MBA in 2002, all from Washington University. In addition, Bob is active in a number of business, professional and community organizations and has received numerous honors and awards. Bob is currently a member of the Governance and Education Leadership Committees of the Regional Business Council; member of EDC Business and Community Partners of St Charles County, Missouri; Board member for the Staenberg Foundation (a supporting Foundation of the Jewish Federation of St Louis); Board member for Hawthorn Foundation and, President and Director of the Millstone Foundation. Some of the awards he has received are the Discovery! 370 Visionary Award; the Distinguished Alumni Award from Washington University Law School; and, the Brotherhood and Sisterhood award from the National Conference for Community and Justice in St Louis.
